The Heartsaver®  CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult, child and infant.  The optional first aid portion covers assessment and management of common emergencies including bleeding and acute injuries. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching technique.

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology.  This course emphasizes team dynamics, and case based scenarios are presented to enhance the learning process.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics.

The AHA’s ECG & Pharmacology Course has been updated to reflect the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. This classroom-based, Facilitator-led course is designed to improve electrocardiogram (ECG) recognition skills and pharmacology knowledge for treating cardiovascular emergencies.

This class is also a preparatory class for ACLS.                                        

Review sessions covering essential nursing content that aligns with the NCLEX test plan. This course is led by a master’s-degreed nurse educator, and reviews all board content areas as well as provides test-taking strategies. 

A course designed to familiarize students with terminology, screen components and the most commonly used functions offered by Microsoft Word. Emphasis will be placed on proper document formatting techniques and file naming and file management conventions.

This course includes “Hands on” practice on Windows 8 computers.

A course designed to teach the basics of Microsoft Excel that includes creating and editing a spreadsheet, enhancing formating of spreadsheets, basic formulas, saving and printing a spreadsheet.

Introduction to Microsoft Windows 8.  This course teaches the basic skills needed to get started working with various features, tools, and options available in Microsoft Windows 8.

This course includes “hands on” practice on Windows 8 computers. 

Students may also bring their own Windows 8 laptops to practice on during class.

This course teaches use of the Apple i-Pad and i-Phone that students can utilize all of the features these devices have to offer.

Devices are NOT provided for practice. 

Students are encouraged to bring their own devices to class.
